The chemical preservative Thimerosal (which contains thiosalicylate and ethylmercury) is a light colored crystalline powder found in childhood vaccines, make up and personal care products. Common products in which this preservative is present are contact lens solutions, eye ointments, eye drops, nose drops, soap free cleansers, cosmetics, eye moisturizers, make up removers and many more.In many cases a Thimerosal allergy occurs only on the skin and people with allergic reactions to it might develop a rash where an injection was performed.
